Before the crossing, we will reach the town of Las Cuevas, to then reach Los Libertadores where
we will make the appropriate procedures to cross to Chile.
Once we have passed the border we will find the Ski Portillo complex, recognized as the ski center
of Chile. This is where our last bit of our journey will begin. We will go through 147km till we reach
Santiago de Chile, our final destination for this day. Along the way to our final destination, we will
be able to admire the astonishing Andes.
Our first day in Chile we will go through the different scenery that characterize this south american metropolis. We will begin around the old residential area of the city, going through the beautiful buildings and houses that are nowadays part of the university district. We will continue towards the financial center of the city, stopping by the most important buildings: government palace of “La Moneda” and “Plaza de Armas”. Our sophisticated dinner will be at Restaurant Bocanariz, a meeting point for tourists and local lovers of good wine. It's located in the heart of one of the most beautiful patrimonial areas of the city, where the gastronomy has been designed to boost the pairing with an extensive wine selection. It is serviced by its owners and high qualified sommeliers and the environment is welcoming and casual. The magic from an old restored house and the essential comfort are used to deliver an excellent service.
Situated 180km to the south of Santiago, Valle de Colchagua is one of the most recognized wine
growing regions and highly valued since it represents Chile worldwide through its exempted wines.
In the morning, we will visit Viña Casa Lapostolle and Viña Montes, where we will walk along its
beautiful vineyards and cellars where the Premium and Ultrapremium wine is made. Before
enjoying a delicious lunch, we will be invited to taste their wines, Montes Classic, Montes Limited
Selection and Montes Alpha.
San Antonio is located 100km to the west of Santiago, very close to the ocean. The vineyards
receive the cold weather of the Pacific since they grow even closer to the coasts. The grapevines
are settled on the hillsides 4km away from the sea, where they show their strong growth abilities.
Viña Matetic is located 120km away from Santiago. In 1999, the Matetic family decided to get into
the world of the wine, with a strong belief, and that’s how they incorporated advisors in order to
make sure that their wines had the best quality.
Today they produce Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah Gewürztraminer and
Riesling. Before leaving, we will taste some of their prestigious wines.
Continuing our journey we will reach Valparaiso which has been declared a World Heritage site by
UNESCO, due to it’s incomparable architecture. There we will enjoy a walk through the hills of the
city and through its narrow and cobbled streets which go up and down incessantly and its
thousands of terraces with magnificent views. We will witness the fabulous natural amphitheater
which surrounds the coast and shows the port’s history.
We will be able to appreciate the particular street art composed by graffitis in each of the walls of
the city. Definitely picture worthy!
Before going back to Santiago we will go through Viña del Mar to admire its beaches.
